Week 10 EOC: My Plan
I'm not really sure what my plans are but I think my idea would be to travel the world after I am done with all my working and schooling. I really hope to become an amazing fashion stylist working with people on the runway, and hopefully for clients! When I picture my future and plan I see myself living in New York working at a company called V files. Thats a huge dream of mine. I also hope to model someday, maybe for some small companies would be great. I see myself being a huge success in a couple years and I couldn't be more excited. This school is definitely preparing me and I am beyond ready to see what is in store for me. I don't think I see myself married or anything at this point in my life which is okay, I don't need anyone but myself. I hope all my plans work out and I have the future that i dream of all the time.

Week 9 EOC: The Apartment
The sexual harassment in this movie wasn't as severe as in 9-5 or as severe as the work place harassment. Men were using derogatory terms against women and women they work alongside, smacking their butts while exiting the elevators, the boss was sleeping with multiple employees (at different times), there was a strip tease at the company christmas party, etc. there were many others but these are just a few. Although there was a lot of sexual harassment it doesn't compare to the amount of work place harassment in this movie! Threats of losing his job over non-work related issues was a vey big count of work place harassment, he was given promotions without even being sure if he was qualified for the position, he looked up a woman's employee card which nowadays would be completely illegal and downright creepy, the secretary was listening to her boss' conversations, one of the employees was later fired for telling the mistress about his past affairs with other women in the office including herself, along with many others. This movie is a great one but has so much sexual and work place harassment its hard for me to consider it a love story!

Week 8 EOC: 9 to 5
This was my first time viewing the movie 9 to 5 and one of the main things i saw happening throughout the movie was constant sexual harassment. Women in the work place were not only being stared at but also being touched in inappropriate ways, and being spoken about based on their appearance. Sexual harassment in the work place or any place at any time is never ever acceptable. “From a legal perspective, if harassment is established under the quid pro quo version, the employer automatically is liable and will be held accountable for whether or not steps were taken to correct the situation…an employer's liability in a hostile work environment case must be established by showing not only that the harassment occurred, but also that the employer did not take appropriate action to stop it” (Human Resources Management in the Hospitality Industry, 1st Edition. Pg. 351.) The next thing I noticed throughout the movie was that threats were constantly being thrown around. Whether it be from the boss or the workers. The boss was constantly threatening his employees and one if the employees even pulled a gun on their boss because he was threatening her. "Unavoidable crises are unfortunate, but even more unfortunate are those crises that, with proper preplanning, could have been prevented. Experienced HR managers know that security programs designed to eliminate threateningand violent behavior at work are important—and critical to the protection and productivity of their employees."(Human Resources Management in the Hospitality Industry, 1st Edition. Pg. 332.) The last thing I noticed was that there was literally no real HR department. Employees had to gossip or just try and talk to their boss to get their issues resolved even if the issue involved the boss himself. Every work place or place of business needs some sort of HR department or the company will not run as smoothly. "Many HR texts describe the operation of an organization's HR department. In the hospitality industry, the on-site manager is that unit's HR department in all except the largest of operations. Thus, it is extremely important that hospitality managers be well versed in HR management, including employee recruitment and selection, training, compensation, performance appraisal and discipline, safety, and other key areas in which they will be personally called upon to make critical decisions. Therefore, this text asks the reader to assume the role of that decision maker."(Human Resources Management in the Hospitality Industry, 1st Edition. PREFACE.)

Week 6 EOC: Job Evaluation
The career I hope to have in the future is a stylist so that is the job I was on the search for. Basically what a stylist does is pick outfits out for someone to wear and buy. For this stylist position I need experience with fast paced environments, have the motivation/drive to help anyone - a 'can do' attitude, have very strong communication skills and excel at building relationships with customers and fellow employees, and basically be an all around "people person" with a personality that will get along with everyone else's. My duties at this job will be: personally greeting customers, confidently being able to provide them with knowledge on the pieces being shown for purchase, dressing in clothing that customers have access to, building strong relationships with customers, going the extra mile for any customer, actively selling and styling to ensue growth within the company, and being passionate about what I do and why I do it. Stylists are the missing link when bringing the customer to the brand. Your role as a stylist is to ensure the best advice possible for the customers needs.

Week 4 EOC: Physical Attractiveness
This topic is totally conflicting because I believe that people should express themselves in ways that make them feel good wether is be with tattoos, piercing, etc. but I know how a lot of people don't always feel too comfortable when someone with a lot of noticeable tattoos or piercings is giving them their food at a drive thru window or checking them into their room at the front desk of a hotel. At many places it is very acceptable nowadays to let people have crazy tattoos and noticeable piercings which I think is super amazing but it is also an issue with people not wanting to enter someones place of business if they have people like that working there because they more than likely believe them to be 'thugs' when that is not always the case. I don't think people should be judged or not hired for a job because of the way they express themselves or portray what kind of person they are based on their looks. My opinion obviously doesn't mean anything because people still don't get hired just because of their appearance and I don't agree with that at all.
Week 3 EOC: Work place fairness
I don't think I agree with companies asking people of their criminal history if it wasn't a federal conviction because what if it was petty crime or a case where they were at the wrong place at the wrong time. I think everyone deserves a chance to prove them-self fit for any job they apply to. I don't think someone shouldn't be hired because of their past mistakes. People can change, attitudes can change and everyone deserves a fair shot.

Yes I know that employer don't want some 'thug' working for them but i firmly believe that everyone deserves a fair shot. i think jobs should be based on how qualified you are, not on past mistakes.
